Eklavya gets Oscar entry. They are very few movies in the industry which have got a chance to enter the Oscars and Eklavya has made it this time. Though the movie didn’t do well in India but it has got an entry to the Oscar’s which shows that the movie is really good one.
The movie depicts a violent family saga starring Amitabh Bachchan, and has been nominated as India’s official entry for Oscar award for the best foreign movie category.
This is the third time that a film by Vidhu Vinod Chopra will be going to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Earlier his short non-fiction film ‘An Encounter with Faces’ was one of the first Indian films to be nominated for an Oscar in 1980. In 1989, Parinda was sent to the Oscars as India’s official entry.
One question which is running on the minds of people is that, does Eklavya deserve this? Well I haven’t seen the movie so cannot comment on it. But for all those who have seen the movie – Here’s just one question to ask, do you think the decision of taking Eklavya to Oscar’s is right?

'Mr. Fraud' to release in Diwali
The shooting of Abbas-Mustan’s MR. FRAUD, starring Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Bipasha Basu and produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd., is likely to resume in March this year. At present 70% complete, the shooting had come to a temporary halt due to Sanju’s personal problems. Incidentally, Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd. is hoping to release the film in Diwali this year.
While on Ashtavinayak, the company is also starting a film with Sanjay Gadhvi [DHOOM, DHOOM 2], which is titled KIDNAP. Sanjay Dutt will head the cast of the film, while talks are on with several young actors, including Aamir Khan’s nephew, for the other important role.
That’s not all, Ashtavinayak has also acquired the world rights of Shyam Bajaj’s forthcoming three films -- THE TRAIN, AGAR and JAI-VEERU. Besides, they have also acquired the Mumbai distribution rights of Firoz A. Nadiadwala’s FOOL & FINA
